Visas

If you are planning on not working, sorting out a visa is easy. For most western countries you can get a tourist visa just by arriving at the airport (for example British get a six month tourist visa), if you are not sure about your own country check with your local Canadian embassy. The important things to consider are:

  • make sure you have a passport and it is valid well past when you plan on leaving.
  • not always needed but to be safe get a return plane ticket (immigration want to know that you are planning on leaving)
  • bring proof of your accommodation address and booking in Whistler (we can provide that)
  • bring proof of funds at least 1000 Canadian dollars i.e. bank statements, to show your support yourself
  • we cannot accept reservations from someone with a criminal record as customs will most likely not let you in and your place will be wasted. So you will need to get this checked out before booking.

If you want to work, getting a visa is a bit more hassle (for visas to work see jobs).
